Updates for February 2026

28 February 2026

There is only one update for February 2026.

The Casavant organ at the Cathedral in Macau (op. 3925)–although reports this month said that there are still outstanding issues to deal with relative to installation–was dedicated on 25 February.  The  well-known French organist, Thierry Escaich, was invited to play for the dedication following a liturgical service. The Project still does not have the final specs of this large installation, but Dr. Urrows is planning to visit the organ in April to find out where things are.

A diocesan choral/organ concert was given earlier in the Cathedral, on 7 February, with Vox Antiqua and the St. Francis University Choir (from Hong Kong), three other Macau choirs, and a choir from Guangzhou, conducted by Andrew Leung and Kenneth Ma, with organist Chere Ko. This was one of many events marking the 450th anniversary of the Macau Diocese. The second and third following photos were obtained from the Vox Antiqua Facebook page.
